Designer Halvorsen Builder Halvorsen Launched 1953, Sydney Length 9m, 30ft
Meroo was purchased in Sept, 2005. She arrived in Perth, after a long haul across the Nullarbor.
Her condition upon arrival was dismal, she looked as though she had been floating a little closer to the bottom of the Hawksbury than the top.
Restoration work was undertaken with the view to retain all of her original charm - whilst bringing in some wonderful modern inclusions to meet with the lifestyle expectations of the day. Her restoration work has included reseating all windows, complete refit of saloon and galley, all below deck fittings have been updated and maintained to a very high standard.
The open space saloon makes Meroo entertaining in her roomy saloon ideal on those warm sunny days, cruising the Swan. The interior is brimming with timber finishes, which adds to the charm of the vessel. Meroo is powered by a (newly reconditioned 2012) Ford Lees diesel engine with very low hours, she will cruise comfortably at 6 knots, but has been known to break the sound barrier at 7.5knots
Restoration work took 9 years to complete and all restoration work, including structural work was carried out by Joe Curtis.
