Designer Halvorsen Builder Halvorsen Launched 1963, Sydney Length 11m, 37ft
Atlanta (ED 450 ) is a special 37, one of two, together with her sistership Salamander, still afloat today. They are actually standard 36's which were kept by Halvorsen and hired out for the day on the Hawkesbury where they were built. When a client expressed an interest in buying such a boat Halvorsen added a foot and made a few cosmetic changes.
She is powered by a single Volvo Penta 165hp diesel with bowthruster, weighs about 10tonne, draws 1.1m and cruises at 7knots.
Bought in 2009 by Julian Wright from Cottage Point where she was moored, and trucked to Perth arriving Fremantle in October of that year. She has two skippers - Julian and his partner Lorraine Campbell who are both competent behind the wheel. She is much loved, used regularly and is our home in Perth.
